SOWK 5333 - PLAY THERAPY: THEORIES, TECHNIQUES AND PRACTICE SKILLS


This course is designed to introduce the principles and theories of play therapy, as well as techniques, skills and developmentally appropriate uses of play therapy with children and adolescents.  It includes an experiential component to develop basic play therapy skills within the context of ethical and diversity-sensitive practice. This is an advanced level methods course designed to help students attain a mastery of the central concepts in direct social work practice with children and their families.
