EDUC 3023 - TRAUMA INFORMED TEACHING This course is a study of the impacts and types of trauma that affect K-12 student well-being and classroom learning. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) studies and classroom strategies for mitigating the effects of childhood trauma are outlined. Focus given to the review of trauma’s impact on the K-12 student and how the teacher can create a trauma informed classroom to proactively empathize and care for affected students.
