FINC 5603 - INTRODUCTION TO FINANCIAL PLANNING This is the introductory course in the Financial Planning (FP) program. As the name suggests, this course will introduce students to the general principles of Financial Planning. The course will begin by describing the FP process including the collection of data, financial statements, and the budgeting process. Additionally, the requirements of both the planner and of the profession (ethics, competencies, standards, regulations, etc.) will be examined. The course will then establish the different areas of FP (law, taxes, insurance, investments, estate planning, etc.). The course will provide the appropriate foundation for the rest of the FP courses.
