EDUC 3313 - TEACHING MATH IN MIDDLE GRADES

An analysis of content, objectives, instructional methods and materials appropriate for teaching mathematics in the middle grades, with attention given to diverse cultural backgrounds and special learning needs of adolescents. Focus is on long and short-range planning, individualization of instruction, enrichment activities, critical thinking skills, student-centered instruction, ethical behavior and appropriate assessment techniques. The course includes field based experiences.
