CSEC 7003 - THREAT ANALYSIS AND INCIDENT RESPONSE This course is the third of four courses that count toward the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate. It is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the methodologies and tools used in modern cybersecurity operations. Students will learn how to classify assets and analyze attack surfaces to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities, with a particular focus on threats such as social engineering, malware, and web-based exploits. The course also provides a detailed walkthrough of the threat modeling process. Students will gain hands-on experience in incident response, learning to contain, eradicate, and recover from various cybersecurity incidents. Practical exercises involve performing packet analysis to interpret network communications, using IDS and NIDS tools, utilizing queries in SIEM tools for event investigation. Upon completion, students will possess a robust skillset for professional threat analysis and incident response.
