CHEM 4423 - MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY This course is an introduction to the field of medicinal chemistry with a special focus on methods of drug design, synthesis, structure-activity relationships, and modes of action. In addition, it will acquaint students with modern applications of chemical techniques in the development of drug candidates to cure diseases based on the modulation of current drug targets, including proteins, nucleic acids, and other receptor-based functionalities. Focuses on structure-activity relationships, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.
