CLAS 1223 - HUMANE LETTERS IIB This course–a continuation of CLAS 1113 Humane Letters IIA–is designed to cultivate intellectual, moral, and aesthetic formation through the study of literature, history, and philosophy. Grounded in Socratic dialogue, the course engages students with classic works of the Western tradition in pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. Literature serves as a window into the human heart, history offers insight into human action and rhetoric, and philosophy explores the nature of reality and the good life. Together, these disciplines form a foundation for liberal arts education and support the development of more thoughtful and humane individuals.
