Criminal Justice Program Mission Statement
The mission of the Criminal Justice Major at Southeastern University is to give students an understanding of the history of criminal justice, of our law enforcement agencies, of our court system, and of our correctional system. Our mission is to prepare students to succeed in careers or graduate schools by teaching practical skills, advanced research, and critical thinking.
Criminal Justice Goals
1. Criminal Justice majors will demonstrate knowledge of the development of the elements of the criminal justice system.
2. Criminal Justice majors will demonstrate adequate knowledge of the relationship between the elements of the criminal justice system.
3. Criminal Justice majors will demonstrate adequate knowledge of the criminological theories which attempt to explain the causes of crime.
4. Criminal Justice majors will demonstrate adequate ability to conduct criminological research and present/interpret the results of that research.
