Mission
College of Education goals consistent with the projected needs of teachers are:

1. To develop the essentials of effective verbal and nonverbal communication in order to interact with others effectively through interpersonal skills and the use of interactive media and technology;
2. To demonstrate in-depth knowledge and skills in specialized content and in the knowledge base in professional studies and best practices supported by research;
3. To demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and professional skills in classrooms with an awareness of and sensitivity to providing for the diverse needs of children in a multi-cultural society;
4. To develop the ability to analyze situations, events, and policies, and apply critical thinking skills and decision-making skills in making effective value judgments and choices;
5. To demonstrate a commitment to high moral, Christian, and ethical standards of conduct, both personally and professionally;
6. To develop attitudes and characteristics essential to personal and professional growth and a commitment to lifelong learning.
