Pre-Law, Minor

In order to earn a minor in Pre-Law, students are required to take both “Introduction to the Legal Theory and Practice of Law” and “Pre-Law Internship,” plus 14 additional credit hours from the selection of courses below, for a total of 18 credits. This minor in Pre-Law is not required for application to nor to be successful in law school. It is only offered as one structured way to prepare for law school. Students should consult with their advisors to determine the best combination of majors, minors and electives to insure personal success in law school.

Other minors which may be beneficial to a student directed toward law school are Religion, Psychology, Sociology, History, Business, English, and Communication.

Also, the equivalent of a minor in Political Science is available to Southeastern students via the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities’ American Studies Program in Washington, D.C. The program is competitive, however, and one must apply and be accepted to participate.

Pre-Law Club

The Pre-Law Club is an association of students interested in going to law school. The club typically meets once or twice a semester to invite a local attorney to address some aspect of the profession or advice about pursuing law school.
