Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Multimedia Journalism 4-Year Degree Plan  

 

Program Description

The Communication degree with the track in Multimedia Journalism emphasizes the principles and best practices of communication and multimedia journalism. The communication core focuses on effective communication, storytelling, and analysis of the mass media. The multimedia journalism track includes practical skills in topics such as digital design, photography, news writing and editing, and multimedia reporting. Students critically analyze mass-mediated content; they also produce journalistic content such as magazine layouts, on-location news pieces, hard news stories, and works of narrative journalism.

Potential career options for those pursuing this degree include reporter, managing editor, copy editor, editor-in-chief, photojournalist, magazine layout editor, and other journalism-related careers.

Language Requirement (Intermediate Level; Beginning Level prerequisites are placed in general electives) - 6 Hrs 

Students who demonstrate proficiency at the Intermediate B level may take 6 additional hours of General Electives.
