Bachelor of Arts, Communication: Public Relations (Four-Year Plan)  

 

Program Description

The Communication degree with the track in Public Relations emphasizes the principles and best practices of communication and public relations. The communication core focuses on effective communication, storytelling, and analysis of the mass media. The public relations track includes practical skills in topics such as public relations campaigns, writing for public relations and advertising, social media management, digital design, and digital marketing and analytics. Students critically analyze mass-mediated content; they also produce public relations-focused content such as various types of press releases, public relations campaigns, and other forms of corporate communication. 

Potential Career Options 

Potential career options for those pursuing this degree include public relations specialist, director of social media, communication manager, director of strategic communication, director of public relations, corporate communication coordinator, digital marketing specialist, and other public relations-related careers.
