Program Description
The BS and BA in General Studies degrees are designed to allow students autonomy and choice as to their preferred areas of academic focus. Especially created for students who want a solid foundation in the liberal arts, these programs allow for a student-centered approach to degree completion. Since students must take at least eighteen hours of upper-level courses in two distinct program tracks, the General Studies programs offer a customizable and flexible approach to degree completion.

Provide evidence of career readiness through field-based coursework.

2023-24 Foundational Core - 34 Credit Hours
SEU Foundations - 3 Credit Hours
Worldview Formation - 9 Credit Hours
Habits of Inquiry - 22 Credit Hours
Discursive Inquiry - 6 Credit Hours
Natural-Scientific Inquiry - Select One with Lab:
Quantitative Inquiry - Select One:
Socio-Historical Inquiry- Select Two:
Creative-Aesthetic Inquiry - Select One:
Major Core- 44 Credit Hours
Meet with an academic advisor and choose between Track 1 and Track 2.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: Select Two- 8 Credit Hours
Beginning Level (Both must be the same language - part 1 & part 2)
Track 1 = 3000-4000 level coursework - Select up to Six (18 Credit Hours)
Track 2 = 3000-4000 level coursework - Select up to Six (18 Credit Hours)
Divine Design - 42 Credit Hours
To meet the Divine Design requirement, students may earn credit hours in general elective courses, declared minors/certificates, or enjoy other experiential learning opportunities such as study abroad, internships, or practicums. Other practicum options include PRAC 1001 (1 credit hour), PRAC 1002 (2 credit hours), PRAC 1003 (3 credit hours), PRAC 1004 (4 credit hours), up to 24 credit hours. General Electives are any college-level course that does not satisfy the above program requirements. Students must complete the above program requirements with the remaining credit hours earned in the Divine Design to meet the total program hours.
