SOWK 3413 - MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEMS & STRATEGIES


This social work course examines the concepts of “mental Health” and “mental health disorders” from a risk and resilience framework.  It studies the bio-psycho-social aspects of mental health challenges.  The history of community mental health as well as various aspects of assessment and service provision will be studies.  The role of the baccalaureate social worker in community and behavioral mental health will be explored using the generalist social work model.
