ARTV 2843 - PHILOSOPHY AND THEOLOGY OF AESTHETICS This course is a foundational course for all incoming Visual Arts majors that sets the premises for understanding the problems, methods, and concepts of aesthetics in philosophy and theology. Students are required to read distinguished philosophical work focusing on aesthetics, engage with the early church fathers’ understanding of beauty, study a variety of artists, and understand the importance of art in society. Students will be required to participate in group discussions and produce a research paper that will incorporate their own personal mission statement as an artist.
Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisites: ENGL 1133 English Composition I
