SOWK 5063 - METHODS OF SOCIAL WORK RESEARCH This course prepares students to become effective consumers and producers of research. Students critically evaluate social work research and its application to social work practice with individuals, groups, communities, and organizations. Topics include: the scientific method of inquiry; research sampling, design, and data collection; ethical issues in social work research; conceptualization and operationalization of research studies; quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods of inquiry; and bivariate and univariate statistical analysis and interpretation.
