PMIN 5163 - COUNSELING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES OF ADDICTION This course will provide the student with an informative survey of the various types of addictions confronting individuals and families within the contemporary church. Some of the topics that will be cover are alcoholism, drug abuse, pornography, eating disorders, social networking, workaholism, body imaging, shopping/hoarding, and gambling addictions. Emphasis is placed on developing a theological, psychological and physiological understanding to assist church leaders to recognize these addictions, how to effectively minister to the individual, as well as when to refer them for professional help.
