CHEM 2143 - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY II CHEM 2143 is a continuation of organic chemistry I. This course is designed to provide a thorough treatment of the chemistry of ethers, thiols, polyenes, aromatic compounds, phenols, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, acid derivatives, enolates, amines, heterocycles, and an introduction to biomolecules. The relationships between structure and reactivity will be studied in greater detail, as well as the mechanism of organic reactions and the applications of spectroscopy for organic structure elucidation.
