The Southeastern University Master of Education in Arts and Academic Interdisciplinary Education is a Master’s program in education designed to equip educators with the advanced skills teachers need to increase student achievement and emphasizes collaborative teaching and learning. This degree program will provide educators with the opportunity to investigate and transform their theory and mastery knowledge into practical classroom teaching implementation. This program offers six specialty courses to prepare teachers to differentiate instruction using the arts for diverse populations. The emphasis is upon learning better ways to use the fine arts (visual arts, music, dance, and theatre) to teach all subject areas including math, science, social studies, language arts, etc. It offers numerous strategies to better enable you to teach to the multiple intelligences present in your classroom. Eight of the required courses can be taken online. Four of the courses are taught on the Southeastern University campus in the summers – two are offered each summer on a rotating basis – in one-week intensive formats. Affordable student housing is available for those that don’t live close enough to commute.
