Associate of Christian Ministries (Highlands College Only)

Program Description

The Associate in Christian Ministries degree program prepares students for ministry leadership—in local churches, faith-based non-profit organizations, and other ministry contexts—through an interdisciplinary curriculum of courses in foundational core (i.e., English, psychology, math, science, etc.), Bible, theology, ministry, and ministry practicum. Students who complete this degree program will be able to:

 

  1. Properly use hermeneutical tools to exegete and apply the Bible in ministry contexts
  2. Analyze and apply basic Christian theology in ministry contexts
  3. Construct and present expository sermons in ministry contexts
  4. Integrate their biblical interpretation, theological, leadership, and biblical studies competencies in ministry contexts

 

Associate in Christian Ministries - Extension Site/Regional Campus - Two-Year Course Plan   

Foundational Core - 38 Hours

Intellectual and Practical Skills - 9 Hours

Ministry Practicum and General Electives - 12 Credit Hours

Highlands College students participate in on-site ministry practicums each semester and register for the PMIN 2303 Student Ministry Practicum course that can be repeated for up to 24 hours of credit. These practicums count towards the general elective requirement.

Total Program Hours - 62 Credit Hours
