Bachelor of Science, Ministerial Leadership: Worship Ministries (Partner Sites) Four-Year Plan


Program Description

The extension site Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership – Worship Ministries track degree program prepares students for ministry leadership—in local churches, faith-based non-profit organizations, and other ministry contexts—through an interdisciplinary curriculum of courses in foundational core (i.e., English, psychology, math, science, etc.), Bible, theology, ministry, and ministry practicum. The final 18 hours of the BSMLW focuses on preparing students to serve as worship pastors through studies in music theory, worship leadership, music composition, sound production, and music performance. Students who complete this degree program will be able to:

 

  1. Properly use hermeneutical tools to exegete and apply the Bible in ministry contexts
  2. Analyze and apply basic Christian theology in ministry contexts
  3. Apply planning, team, financial leadership skills in ministry contexts
  4. Use basic music theory and aural theory in the context of worship ministry
  5. Integrate their biblical interpretation, theological, leadership, and biblical studies competencies in ministry contexts

CORE 1001 – College and Christian Calling and CORE 1503 – Personal Stewardship may be waived for students in the Pastoral Accelerator program, due to their advanced standing. These waivers would reduce the total program hours to 120.

 

NOTE: It is the responsibility of the student to read, review, and fulfill the requirements and total hours of this degree audit for their applicable degree. 

*Extension Site students participate in on-site ministry practicums each semester (3 hours each semester) over a four year period. These practicums count towards the general elective requirement.

***Extension Site students may declare and complete a minor in order to work towards completing the general elective requirement.
