Bachelor of Science & Masters of Education., Exceptional Student Education - 5 Year Plan
The Bachelor of Science/Master of Education in Exceptional Student Education (4+1) at Southeastern University equips students to become highly qualified and sought-after teachers in a variety of educational settings. Through the Florida state-approved 4+1 program, you’ll graduate with both an undergraduate and graduate degree in education, become certified in multiple areas (exceptional student education, elementary education, and a secondary education content area of your choice), and acquire endorsements in several specialty areas (reading, autism, and English for Speakers of Other Languages). In addition to gaining four semesters of hands-on field experience, you’ll learn research-based classroom techniques for teaching special-needs children with disabling conditions. Your final semester will be rounded out with full-time teaching in a local partner school, where you’ll make valuable connections in the community and prepare to lead your own classroom.
